Free fruit from Basepoint throughout the month of January

Bromsgrove

Licensees at Basepoint Bromsgrove can collect free pieces of fresh fruit each week in January from our reception area, including apples, pears, bananas and tangerines. After the excesses of Christmas it can be difficult to get going again in the new year so go on, grab one of your 5 a day and kick-start a happy and healthy 2017!

Centre Manager Julie is hoping to extend the seasonal interest in well-being throughout the year with a focus on a number of health awareness initiatives in partnership with Worcestershire Works Well, a County Council led enterprise aimed at  raising awareness in business across the county. A key priority is to improve workplace health and well-being so that our work force is productive and able to meet future business challenges and opportunities.

In the UK, 175 million working days are lost every year due to illness which is estimated to cost employers over £13 billion. Making changes in the workplace to improve health and well-being not only reduces sickness but also creates a more positive work force.

Keep an eye on our calendar for forthcoming events; Stress relief and muscular problems can be addressed with workplace massage that now has a monthly slot with Kathy Scott from HandOnAtWork. (see calendar for dates and information). There is also a focus throughout January on cervical cancer awareness and womens health in partnership with Jo's Trust with lots of information and leaflets available covering HPV and screening. There will be more events throughout the year including hypertension and heart health, healthy eating and diabetes and mental health.
