Mega Museum reaps recognition

Dartford

We predict great things for this inspiring Basepoint visitor

Billy Bromley is a regular visitor to the Dartford Centre as our licensee, Scope Employment Services, have been assisting him to find employment that will accommodate his disability.  Billy has Cerebral Palsy, which after suffering a fall, has left him needing a wheelchair.

Despite his disability, Billy always enters the centre with a huge smile, and heaps of enthusiasm, most recently about his new venture which look set to pave what we hope will be a very successful future for him.
In 2016 following graduation from university in Greenwich and looking to follow their passion within their study area, (games design), Billy, along with his friend Jamie Parish, founded Merchant Games.  After many months of hard work, testing, blind faith and persistence, the duo have released a gaming product on the google play and apple device stores with later plans to release free new content allowing users to add a research facility to their museum.

Mega Museum is an incremental loot based casual game aimed at young gamers and families.  You are tasked with the role of a newly found museum curator, who must work alongside museum staff and visitors to track down lost artefacts and treasures as you build your way to becoming the greatest museum in the world!  It has an educational element too as it incorporates history with gameplay.
The app is garnering a wide range of support and beginning to get quite a following, from the industry itself and also from a growing fan base.  One young gamer has released a YouTube video review which left the makers overwhelmed. The game engine, Unity, have even published an article on the game and it’s masterminds, who with Merchant Games hope to grow over time to incorporate more encompassing, detailed and breath-taking games, full of mystery and twists.

Being owned by The Act Foundation, a grant making foundation who supports those with physical or mental disabilities, and with Basepoint’s dedication to aiming our services to start ups and champions of innovation, we find Billy’s story captivating from all angles.  He dreams that one day, his business could be large enough to provide opportunities for those with disability.  What makes him such a breath of fresh air is that he doesn’t wish to be a role model for people with disabilities, but instead give those that do, a platform to be their own role model.

We wish Billy and Jamie every success with the Mega Museum app, their Merchant Games business and for the future.  We are sure with their talent and ethos they will go far.
