Blue Peter Visits Our Nominated Charity Balloons

Exeter

Basepoint Exeter's licensee and nominated charity Balloons (Devon) were excited to receive a visit from Blue Peter's very own Lindsey Russell.

Children and young people at the Balloons raft building, abseiling and caving activity at Haven Banks on 11th March were delighted to be joined by BBC presenter Lindsey Russell from the children’s television programme Blue Peter.  They were pleased to welcome Lindsey and the crew to film children aged 6-14 who have been given grief support by Balloons.

Several of the children were interviewed and we were so pleased to see the programme aired on Thursday 16th March on the CBBC channel.  You can view the programme at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/cbbc/episode/b08jpb9b/blue-peter-jolly-jokes-and-awesome-animals and can find the Balloons charity footage around 23 minutes into the programme.

We’re so proud of the Balloons Team who work so hard and the children and young people interviewed who were so open and enthusiastic about talking about their experiences.

Balloons is a highly regarded local charity providing support and counselling to children and young people up to the age of 25 who have suffered or are likely to suffer a significant bereavement. The charity operates within the Exeter, Mid and East Devon locality and has done so for the past 7 years.
