The 2017 Acumen Business Convention went down a storm in Brighton yesterday, with Basepoint as proud sponsors of this incredible event.
300 business leaders came together for a day of inspirational speakers, networking, entertainment & learning opportunities - all complimented with fabulous food & drink.
Penina Shepherd, founder of Acumen Business Law & author of The Freedom Revolution opened the convention with a brilliant presentation about 'The Business of Happiness'. Following on from Penina was Rob Forkan, fouder of Gandy's, with his truly inspirational story of turning a personal tragedy into a highly successful social enterprise.
Sanderson Jones, Founder of Sunday Assembly really got the crowd going with his motivational presentaion about outlook, beliefs & values. Throughout the day there were a range superb break-out workshops to give everyone the chance to learn about a variety of different legal issues businesses face - everything from how the gig ecconomy is changing the way we work, to leasing business premises.
The final speaker took us to another level - Jonas Kjellberg, Founder of Skype (amongst many other well known businesses), gave us a superb insight into the disruptors of the business world & how to gear up for business creation.
