Broad Street DIY barbecue to raise cash for Bromsgrove Basement Project on June 3rd

Bromsgrove

A DIY shop in Bromsgrove will be hosting a big barbecue next month to raise money for the town's homeless youngsters. Staff from Broad Street DIY will be dressing up as food characters on June 3rd, to serve burgers, hot dogs and corn cobs in the Factory Lane store's landscaping yard. Partridges Butchers and the Stourbridge Road Sainsbury's will be donating food for the event, and all money raised will go to Bromsgrove homeless charity Basement Project - Basepoint Bromsgrove and Broad Street DIY's nominated charity for 2017. Any monies raised will be matched by Basepoint.

The fundraiser coincides with the 21st National BBQ Week between May 29 and June 4, when the store will also be selling barbecue utensils at a discounted cost.

Lisa Childs, director at Broad Street DIY, said: "We are great advocates of al fresco dining and have supported National BBQ Week for the past few years. However this is our first barbecue event and we hope the local community will show its support by popping along to buy a burger, hot dog or corn on the cob, to help us raise money for a very worthwhile local charity.”

The event will run from 1pm to 3pm. For more information call 01527 873555.
