Suffolk Day Success

Ipswich

Basepoint Ipswich licensees celebrated the counties first Suffolk Day at the centre.

Licensees at Basepoint Ipswich were treated to a Suffolk themed extravaganza yesterday as they celebrated the first ever Suffolk Day.
The centre was decorated with the Suffolk flag, local radio station BBC Suffolk was playing and licensees tucked in to decorated cupcakes, salads and and a selection of barbeque meats cooked up by local butcher George Debman.
The event, which ran from 12:30pm-2:30pm also raised over £40 for Age UK Suffolk as people donated their spare change at collection tins dotted around the centre.
Speaking about the event, centre manager Alison Morrissey commented 'It has been a fantastic day, the weather has been beautiful and over 80 licensees have turned up to have their barbeque lunch together. We made the conscious decision to 'Shop Local' for the event, with all food and refreshments coming from nearby farms and businesses. We are already looking forward to next years' event!'
