Licensee Stands Proud as daughter chosen to be part of Jeans for Genes Day campaign

Newhaven

STL planning & Design Solutions are very proud to support Jeans for Genes day on 22nd September 2017.

This charity is close to our hearts due to Sophie (daughter of STL Director, Simon Tucker) having a rare genetic disorder diagnosed when she was under a year old. This year Sophie was chosen to be part of the campaign and had a very enjoyable photo shoot for publication photos and proved to be an experience Sophie will never forget.

Jeans for Genes Day is the annual fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK, the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by a genetic disorder.

Monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day fund the work of the charity and provide grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders. There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders. It is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and therefore 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year. Some genetic disorders are apparent at birth while others are diagnosed at different stages throughout childhood, and sometimes into adulthood.

Jeans for Genes Day help disorder-specific charities and patient groups to deliver inspiring projects and support services for children affected by a genetic disorder in the UK. The monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day provide grants for day-to-day support, equipment, nursing and patient support services, and events which bring together affected children and their families.
