SantaPaws is coming to town
SantaPaws was started last year by a group of local dog walkers to remember a handful of local, and often forgotten, animal charities. A Facebook group was set up and the appeal went viral. Hundreds of people got on board resulting in donations far exceeding expectations!
The appeal has now been set up for this Christmas & the following charities have been included:
Dogs: Newport City Dogs Home (in conjunction with Four Paws animal rescue South Wales), Bluecross Newport Hub & Doberman Rescue (DRUE)
Cats: Mittens Cat Rescue & Usk New Start
Swans and Hedgehogs: Swan Rescue
Rabbits and guinea pigs: Friends of the Animals
Larger animals: Dean Farm Trust
Birds: Caerphilly Bird Rescue
Donations can be anything from food, treats, collars, toys, beds, etc; Anything the charities can use to help care for the animals. The donations can be as large or small as people choose. Last year lots of children included handmade cards with messages which proved quite emotional for the team sorting through the donations!
There are various collection points around South Wales and here at Basepoint Chepstow one of our licensees has volunteered to be a collection point for Chepstow & the surrounding areas.
