Gloucestershire reclamation yard saves Calne bronze pigs' bacon after police appeal goes viral

A police appeal that went viral saw two beloved stolen bronze pigs returned — with the help of a Gloucestershire reclamation yard.Officers picked up the statue from the company’s showroom Ronson Gallery, on Tewkesbury Road, Longford, on Wednesday afternoon. It was returned to Calne and will be placed back on the High Street as soon as some minor damage to the base plate is repaired, according to Coun Trotman. A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the theft and other offences. He has been released under investigation. Mr Jones said: “I had bought four bronze lions a few days before and I wanted it in a display with the lions — I am really into bronze animals at the moment.
