British Travel Awards winner Holidays by Rail
It is a pleasure to announce our licensee Dawn Doyle, from Holidays by Rail, collected the award for Best Rail Holiday Company Overall, as well as winning their category.
The British Travel Awards are know as the travel industry's Oscars, so the Winter Wonderland themed gala dinner was held to celebrate the crème de la crème of travel, from the best of UK tourism to the top airlines, cruise lines and holiday companies of 2017.
The results of The British Travel Awards for 2017 were announced on the 29th November at a glittering gala ceremony in front of almost 1,000 guests from the travel and leisure industry. 147 awards were presented to winners in categories including best travel money retailer, car hire, weddings and honeymoons plus the best tour operators to all regions of the world, coach holiday companies, travel insurance, cruise and best hotels and villas in the UK and overseas.
The British Travel Awards is the largest and most influential poll of consumer opinion on the performance of enterprises operating in the leisure travel and visitor attractions sector. The votes are not cast by simple clicks on a Facebook “like”, Twitter “favourite” or other social media instant response button - but by individuals who have taken the time to register their details and make considered judgements on the companies they believe deserve recognition.
Unlike other travel awards, The BTA's have no stakeholder ties or affiliations to any travel companies or trade publications - where public perception believes the results are all too often influenced by panels of travel industry pundits and the winners determined by the leverage of their advertising budget. Making the achievemnet all the more impressive.
