Basepoint Newhaven donate over £4,000 to local charity
The Newhaven Enterprise Centre recently presented FitzRoy Newhaven (www.fitzroy.org), a local learning disabilities charity, with a cheque for £4,073. The funds were raised through Networking Hub sponsorships, a car wash in association with the Prince’s Trust, as well as a charity raffle held at the centre.
FitzRoy Newhaven is a charity offering a residential, day care and respite centre for adults with physical and/or learning disabilities. They provide quality care with an over-riding emphasis on the personal development of the individual, no matter what their abilities. Everyone – staff and clients alike – contributes to and benefits from the enormous sense of community that exists there.
Roxanne Haid, centre manager of The Newhaven Enterprise Centre, comments: “We’re delighted to present this cheque to our chosen charity, FitzRoy Newhaven, after match-funding proceeds raised at various events. We’ve been told that the money will go towards improving the residents’ home, as well as investing in sensory computers, which is great news.”
