Basepoint Eastcote presents cheque to Uxbridge College Students

Eastcote

On February 4th 2014, Basepoint Eastcote presented a cheque of £750 to Uxbridge College Students for their ‘Max the Cash’ project. Kevin Rose, Eva Christodoulou and Jackie-Lyn Bowden from Basepoint attended the charity event to give their full support, and business mentoring to the students who are taking part.

This scheme was designed to allow students to put together their business plans and make profit on a small business of their choice.  Basepoint Business Centre Eastcote, and the ACT foundation then proceed to match fund the total money made by the student.  This will then be paid to the Michael Sobell House Charity.

Also in attendance at the event was the Mayor and Mayoress of Hillingdon along with the trustees of Michael Sobell House Charity and the staff at Uxbridge college.  It was a great turn out and we look forward to see the students on our return in May. This will allow them to share with us all their business ideas and  profits made. Basepoint look forward to the entrepreneurs ideas for 'Max the Cash'

Sharon McCann, Citizenship & Volunteering Activities Co-ordinator at Uxbridge College, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to run Max the Cash for a second year with the generous support of Basepoint in Eastcote.  Not only have they provided funding to get the businesses started, it is also a great opportunity for these entrepreneurial students to learn from their business expertise. Our teams have a hard act to follow after last year’s success, but with so many great ideas and such enthusiasm, there is no reason why they shouldn’t do just as well or better.”

Geraint Hughes, Corporate and Trusts Funddraising Manager at Michael Sobell Hospic commented : "We are thrilled that Uxbridge College students are once again applying their entrepreneurial drive, enthusiasm and teamworking to boost our fundraising for Michael Sobell Hospice. With Basepoint Business Centres’ backing  we are confident that the students will turn a healthy profit and wish them every success in their endeavours on our behalf".
