Basepoint Continues Expansion into the Midlands

Evesham

Basepoint Business Centres hosted a ground-breaking ceremony on the site of its Evesham development at Vale Park.

Basepoint invited the Mayor of Evesham, Councillor Alan Booth, and representatives from Wychavon District Council including the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Mrs Jo Sandalls, to join in early celebrations to mark the start of work on its latest purpose-built centre offering flexible ‘easy in, easy out’ license terms to new and growing businesses. The Evesham scheme is the company’s latest venture into the Midlands, a region in which Basepoint is keen to further extend its network of managed business centres. The new business centre is being built by Midlands-based company, Thomas Vale Construction, and when open will be fully managed with reception facilities during business hours and provide occupiers with 24/7 access, meeting rooms and a full range of business support services. Units will be let unfurnished and will have the latest technology and support from great people. The new 2000 square metre Evesham centre will provide a choice of around 65 business units ranging in size from 10 to 200 square metres. These include ideal one-person starter spaces for budding entrepreneurs and office suites to accommodate larger, more established businesses. The decision to expand further into the Midlands is part of controlled expansion plans to extend the geographical reach of the company’s existing locations, as Basepoint Developments’ Executive Director, Phil Stansfield, explains: ‘Basepoint operations currently extend to 21 centres, predominantly across the south of England, with current expansion taking the business as far afield as Suffolk and the West Country. The Evesham development follows the opening of the Tewkesbury centre in July 2006 and the successful launch of the Bromsgrove Business Centre last year. Basepoint Developments purchased the site from Wychavon District Council which is keen to see managed workspace and business incubation in the town. Chairman of The Council, Councillor Mrs Jo Sandalls comments: ‘There are already a number of established larger companies on Vale Business Park and Wychavon District Council is keen to attract smaller businesses to the area. The variety of managed workspace which Basepoint will offer means there will be a unit to suit all types of business, from starter to the more established. With the A46 Evesham by-pass running adjacent to the site, giving easy access to the M5, Vale Park is an ideal location for businesses of all sizes.’ Basepoint Evesham is scheduled to open in Spring 2009. As a wholly owned subsidiary of registered charity, the ACT Foundation, Basepoint works hard to provide businesses with the opportunities they need to prosper and grow. The Foundation aims to ‘enhance the quality of life for people in need’, achieving this by providing grants to fund building-related projects for residential accommodation, schools and hospices, as well as specialised equipment and other aids to assist with independent living.
