New Charity welcomed to Basepoint Folkestone
Today we welcomed the Canterbury Oast Trust here at Basepoint Folkestone. The Canterbury Oast Trust (COT) is the new charity supported by Basepoint Folkestone and we enjoyed meeting the team as well as some of the wonderful people that benefit from the Charity.
During our coffee morning we got to know more about the Trust’s projects and enjoyed a variety of cakes which have been prepared by their catering students. Many of the charities clients earn City and Guilds qualifications at the Rare Breeds Centre, giving them an opportunity to work within their communities.
The Canterbury Oast Trust is supporting the independence of people with learning disabilities as well as providing quality homes and training, placing an emphasis on supporting independence, developing skills and changing perceptions.
The Trust has homes across Kent and East Sussex - each house is unique with its own individual character but all focus on family-style living. Additionally the COT runs the 100 acre Rare Breeds Centre and Granary Restaurant which attracts over 75,000 visitors a year!
