Out of this World Meeting

It’s not very often you get the opportunity to meet someone who has been in space, let alone someone who has actually only just got back but Andrew Weston, the Gosport manager got to meet NASA Astronaut Steve Bowen. Steve was one of the mission specialists on STS-132, the most recent Space Shuttle mission, which docked with the International Space Station on 16 May 2010. It was launched from the Kennedy Space Center on 14 May 2010.

MP's visiti Basepoint Swindon

Swindon’s two new Conservative MP’s Robert Buckland (South Swindon) and Justin Tomlinson (North Swindon) visited Basepoint to Present awards to the students from Aspire Tuition. Aspire Tuition have been based at Basepoint since it was founded by experienced Teachers Andrea and David Parkinson and offers tuition in Maths and English to students at any level from age 7 upwards.

Portfield School progressing well in “Join Us & Grow” campaign

Portfield School (part of The Wessex Autistic Society) have embraced their Sunflower growing. Pictured on the attached is one of the children proudly surveying the planting of their Sunflower, the second picture shows their tallest sunflower, which is situated amongst other plants in their sensory garden, which as at today is over 1.13cm tall – Good Luck!

BASEPOINT CENTRE EXETER PLEDGES LOCAL CHARITY SUPPORT

Basepoint Exeter has chosen local children’s charity Balloons as its beneficiary for 2010. Basepoint Exeter will be collaborating with Balloons on various fund-raising activities throughout the year, and in a unique concept all funds raised through the alliance — up to the value of £5,000 — will be matched by Basepoint’s parent company the ACT Foundation, a leading UK grant-making charity.
