Emmaus Hampshire Coffee Morning

10:00, Wednesday, 10 October 2018

Winchester

Emmaus is a homelessness charity providing more than just a bed for the night to people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.

Emmaus Hampshire is the 19th community to open, and there are 29 locations across the country. It is a vibrant and thriving social enterprise community that gives a home and meaningful work experience to homeless individuals to secure their entry back into society. All residents are known as ‘companions’ and give back to their community by doing meaningful work for the social enterprise, either in Winchester or running the charity’s other pre-loved furniture stores in Shirley and Eastleigh.

On Wednesday 10th October, Emmaus Hampshire is running a coffee morning to offer local businesses a chance to find out more about homelessness and how we can overcome it. Emmaus Hampshire is not looking for financial support from businesses, this is about building links and developing awareness of homelessness and how to provide a sustainable solution to the problem. Refreshed by the free tea and coffee, visitors will be able to look around the facility, meet the companions and discuss the charity’s work with trustees and volunteers. Emmaus offers a number of hands-on opportunities for volunteers to use the skills they have developed in business to help others.

The coffee morning starts at 10am and will be held at the Winchester community location at Bar End Road, Winchester, SO23 9BN.
