Winners of GloucestershireLive Apprenticeship Awards 2021 announced

The winners of the 2021 GloucestershireLive Apprenticeship Awards have been announced at a special event at Kingsholm Stadium. The ceremony at the home of Gloucester Rugby, which celebrated the best and brightest learners in the county and the companies helping them succeed, was hosted by BBC Points West reporter Steve Knibbs.

The winners included individuals and organisations from a wide variety of sectors - from healthcare to engineering - who have managed to succeed despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Zoe Carter was named Outstanding Apprentice of the Year in the Health, Wellbeing, Care & Education category, as well as the overall Gloucestershire Apprentice Of The Year.

The 17-year-old has been working at Tewkesbury Community Hospital while studying for a Level 2 healthcare support worker apprenticeship.

Ms Carter was commended for showing exemplary communication skills with patients and completing her apprenticeship work to an extremely high-standard.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was named Employer of the Year while Gloucestershire College won the prize for Training Provider of the Year.

An award was also presented on the night to the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust's apprenticeship lead Stacey Robinson for outstanding contribution to apprenticeships In Gloucestershire.
