Why dog owners need to be wary of gritters on winter walks

Dog owners are being warned of the potential harm to their pets if they go for a walk after the gritters have been out. The salt from the grit can be ingested by canines after they have been a walk when they return home and lick their paws. Rock salt can be toxic to dogs and cats and could cause severe kidney damage to beloved pets.

County's Oldest Inn set to re-open

A pub in Tewkesbury said to be Gloucestershire’s oldest is set to reopen after revamp. Ye Olde Black Bear is said to have been established in 1308. The pub at the junction of High Street and Mythe Road has not been open since 2017.Now it is undergoing a revamp and is set to reopen. A spokesperson for the venue said this would happen “this year some time”.
