Catgate: moggie is banned from Tewkesbury Town Hall

The ‘morale officer and town cat’ is now officially not welcome in the authority’s headquarters. Missy the cat has been banned from Tewkesbury Town Hall after a row over her presence there. The moggie, who lives next door to the High Street building, had developed a habit of visiting the town council’s offices most days since last summer. Last month staff insisted she was their ‘morale officer and town cat’ and should be allowed to stay with them in their offices but some councillors said she posed a health and safety risk and could waste workers’ time.

Brand new support group for Tewkesbury Abbey launched

A new group has been set up to enable youngsters to do their bit to help the church, which will mark its 900th anniversary in four years' time. The Young Friends of Tewkesbury Abbey has been established as a subset of the Friends of Tewkesbury Abbey, with the aim of ensuring the long-term future of the organisation

BROMSGROVE'S CENTRE MANAGER, JULIE BULLOCK, IS TAKING PART IN THIS YEAR'S WALKING OUT OF DARKNESS!

Julie is taking part in a sponsored walk in Birmingham in aid of CLASP, a charity focusing solely on the stigma of mental and stress related illness, emotional life traumas and suicide. The walk starts at 10am in Eastside City Park, follows a 10mile route along Birmingham’s canal towpaths, and culminates in a festival of mental health and wellbeing at Cannon Hill Park, where there will be a chance to chat and a showcase of mental health and wellbeing services and support networks.
